Benedict, our sweet 10 yr. old diabetic cat is in need of a loving foster or adoptive home! He has stolen our hearts, but he needs a special someone to care for him as he battles diabetes. Despite his condition, Benedict is affectionate and full of love! He just wants to be held and loved. He can sit in your lap for hours. However, the shelter isn’t an ideal place for managing his diabetes long-term. Here’s where you come in! We’re desperately seeking a compassionate foster or adoption parent who can provide him with the care he needs. Benedict is extremely good for his insulin injection and for his ear pricks when we need to check his blood glucose levels – typically only one person does it with no help. The shelter covers all costs for his medication and prescription food, so you’ll have everything necessary to keep him healthy and happy. Fostering Benedict isn’t just giving him a temporary home—it’s giving him a chance at a better life! You’ll be making a profound difference in the life of this wonderful feline companion. This handsome 5-6 year old lab (55lbs) found himself at our shelter after being picked up as a stray down South. Despite his mysterious past, one thing’s for sure: George is an absolute sweetheart with brains to match his cuteness! George may have had zero leash training (and he is strong), but he makes up for it with his keen intelligence and boundless energy. With his nose always to the ground, he’s a natural tracker—could he have been a hunting dog in his past life?
We’re searching for an active family who can keep up with George’s high energy levels and provide him with the love and attention he deserves. He’s a quick learner and is eager to please. This lovable pup knows the basics like sit and stay, and he’s a pro at keeping his kennel clean. George is a big fan of running, so a fenced yard is a must for him! Meet Strawberry…She has not received any applications for adoption so she really needs our help. Strawberry is 6 months old, is a hound mix, and only 34 lbs. She and her siblings are looking for loving homes. Ideally, she would have a fenced yard to run and play. She’ll need to learn to walk on a leash, but with a little patience, she should master it in no time.

Pet of the Week 01/29 – “Camo”
Camo misses his home! He’s so sweet and friendly! Housebroken to perfection!!! All he needs is a loving home with a fenced yard!
Through no fault of his own, Camo has been returned to the shelter after 4 years. Family issues have left this big guy homeless and now it’s up to us to pick up the pieces of his broken heart. Camo, now almost 5 years old, is very friendly and smart! Even though his world has been turned upside down and he’s understandably confused, he has loved everyone he’s met at the shelter. atahoula’s make loyal companions. They are working dogs, active and highly intelligent. Camo has a gorgeous blue merle coat. He is a big boy and was sadly very overweight! He’s on a healthy diet now and getting daily exercise. He has already lost 6 lbs. We are looking for an active home that will make sure to keep up with a good exercise regimen and make sure those pounds come off so he can get back to a healthy weight. Camo loved his big fenced yard in his previous home and enjoys running here in our fenced area so we are hopeful his new adopters will have the same so he can enjoy that as well. Camo has lived as an only pet but he seems to like his kennel neighbors so we are certainly open to doggy meet and greets. Please don’t make this boy wait too long to find his new home. This handsome grey and white kitty was transferred to us from an overcrowded NJ shelter and is ready to steal your heart. Flounder may be a bit shy and nervous at first, but with gentle words of reassurance, he blossoms into a playful ball of fur! His unique meow is a whisper, adding to his charm. Don’t worry, the doctor says he’s in great health.
This Little Mermaid-inspired Flounder loves bell balls, cat tunnels, and tents. He enjoys the company of other cats and appreciates a bit of space when needed. Jimmy is a 4-year old handsome and very sweet cat transferred from an overcrowded shelter in Philadelphia. He loves attention and affection from people. He came to the shelter as a TNR cat, but he was so nice, they didn’t want to put him back outside. He was in need of a severe dental, which Jersey Shore Animal Hospital took care of, and now he’s ready to find his furever home. He is chatty and will chip when you speak to him. He doesn’t get along with other cats, but is going to make a great family member. Pet of the Week 05/17- “Klaus” – ADOPTED

This beauty is Klaus! Klaus is a BIG fluffy 4 year old boy!
This handsome guy was surrendered to an overcrowded NJ shelter in awful condition. He was dirty, matted and his eyes were infected. We could not let him suffer so we brought him into our care. Turns out Klaus had entropion eyes. Entropion is an abnormal inward rolling of the upper or lower eyelids, causing abnormal, painful friction with the surface of the eye. Entropion is especially irritating to the cornea, or the curved, clear part of the eye. We did surgery to correct this and Klaus is doing great! He LOVES attention. He must have been royalty in his past life because if he could be carried around all day he would!! He loves to be brushed too. Can live with calmer cats, seems to do better with females. For 5 years.. until he was returned to us recently… he lived a life of neglect and it truly breaks our heart. Despite his not so great past, he LOVES people! He also is good with cats & kids. New kid on the block…this is Snickers. Just like the candy bar, Snickers is a delightful mix of sweet and delicious!! He is affectionate and will melt when you pet him. He enjoys playing with his toys.

This is one gorgeous boy! We are obsessed with his brindle coat and THOSE EARS!! Cafe is approx. 1 year old and 50lbs. He came to us from Puerto Rico via The Sato Project. This handsome boy has extra-high energy needs. He would be happy with an active owner who will take him for runs or hiking. Cafe is dog friendly but prefers a cat-free home. We are unsure if he was born this way or what the cause was. He is very playful and his furry mice are his favorite toys. He also loves to be carried around. Pet of the Week 01/03 – “Codee” ADOPTED
All of us at Dash Mechanical want to see every shelter animal find their furever home. Codee is a special one that we all need to share!
Codee is looking for his present under the christmas tree. Santa got a nice big orthopedic bed for him! Codee was recently returned after being in a home for 10 years. Sadly, his owner was not well and was in and out of the hospital and rehabilitation centers. Codee was being left alone in the home for long hours and the family was unable to care for the dog. We had to pick him up and sadly the living conditions were less than desirable and he would spend long hours out on a cable. Codee is now 11 1/2 years old, 70lbs. and longing for a new home. He is sad and confused. He is settling in and we love him. Codee must get to know you first and warms up slowly. Once he does, you will have a friend for life. He is cat friendly and seems to like dogs. He loves to go on walks, he will pull at first but settles down after a bit. We are so hoping for a happy ending for this boy! There is nothing like the love of a senior dog.

Pet of the Week 12/20 – “Bubbie” – ADOPTED

Bubbie is a real heart breaker. Bubbie, aka Wabba, was adopted from Jersey Shore Animal Center in 2015. Sadly he has been returned because his owners were unable to take care of him any longer. They were saddened to see the shape he was in when he was brought back. Fleas, hair loss, and in bad need of a dental. They are working on getting him back to tip top shape and in the meantime have fallen in love with him. He is now 8 years old. He LOVES to be pet and doesn’t mind being picked up either. He will be available to go home soon after his medical needs are taken care of and applications are being taken now. Whoever gets this boy will be lucky for sure! ps…he’s a PURR machine.
